About Spravato for Depression
SPRAVATO® (esketamine) is FDA-approved for adults with treatment-resistant depression — depression that hasn't responded adequately to at least two other antidepressants — and for major depressive disorder with acute suicidal ideation or behavior. Unlike traditional antidepressants, which can take weeks to have an effect, Spravato works through a different mechanism in the brain and, for some patients, brings relief noticeably faster.
Who Is Spravato Right For?
Spravato is generally considered for adults who have tried at least two different antidepressants without adequate relief, or who are experiencing major depressive disorder along with suicidal thoughts or behavior. It's administered alongside an oral antidepressant, not as a stand-alone treatment. Because Spravato carries the potential for temporary dissociation, sedation, and changes in blood pressure, it can only be given at a certified REMS treatment center — Led Life is an authorized SPRAVATO® provider.
What to Expect
Spravato is a nasal spray, self-administered under the direct supervision of our clinical team. Each appointment includes the dosing itself followed by a required two-hour monitoring period, during which our staff track your blood pressure and how you're feeling. A typical course starts with two sessions per week for the first four weeks, then tapers to once weekly for weeks five through eight, and finally to once every one to two weeks from week nine onward, depending on how you respond. You will need someone to arrange a ride home, as you cannot drive the day of treatment.
